Acids, Bases and Salt
Acids :
Acids are categorized in two types : ORGANIC and in MINERAL acid.
Organic acid are weak acid and are safe to consume while mineral acids are strong acids and are highly corrosive.
Properties of Acid :
1. Acid are sour in taste
2. Acid are corrosive in nature and have the ability to corrode metals. It is for this reason that they are generally stored in glassware.
3. Acid are soluble in water

Basic Substance :
There are some substances that are bitter in taste and Soapy to touch, which are called as BASE. E.g. Sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide etc
Properties of Bases :
1. Bases are BITTER to taste.
2. Bases are SOAPY to touch
3. Bases may or may not be soluble in water.
Bases that dissolve in water is called Alkalis

Neutral Substance :
The substances which are neither acidic nor basic in nature are NEUTRAL like :

Distilled Water, Sugar, Urea, Glucose are neutral substances.
